Welcome to Guardian Angel’s parish website!
For nearly a century, our parish has shared the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are richly blessed with a multicultural diversity that allows us to serve those thirsty and hungry for the sustenance of our Lord.
Allow us to serve you and share with you and your loved ones the richness of our liturgies and our vibrant cultural and social activities. As an immigrant myself, I love the Church, God in his mercy and my assignment to serve the community of Guardian Angel. We invite you to be our guest this Sunday.
God Bless,
Fr. Sergiy, Pastor
Sharing is one of the concrete actions that affect the way we think and the way we live. As good stewards we are called to receive God’s gifts gratefully, cultivate them responsibly, share them lovingly in justice with others, and return them with increase to the Lord.
Let us do our best and God will do the rest.
Our Mission
The parish of Guardian Angel, at Brighton Beach, is committed to building the church of God through a diversified community of American, Indian, Spanish, Filipino, Polish, and other faithful witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Through gratitude and thanksgiving to God, we seek to enrich our parish by the sharing of our time, talent, and treasure.
A Christian Steward “receives Gods gifts gratefully, cultivates them responsibly, shares them lovingly in justice with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord”.
Stewardship, A Way of Life
We are invited to spend some time in prayer, asking how our spirituality is being expressed in some form of ministry.
What direction this conversation takes is between ourselves and the Lord.
Are we being invited in some special way to share our gifts and talents with our parish family at Guardian Angel?
Our Action Plan is a description of the ministry opportunities at our parish. It is meant to help us consider how we can best help our parish. It is also an opportunity to get new ministries started.

The central Catholic act of worship is attending the Mass, or Divine Liturgy. The Mass is divided into two parts: the Liturgy of the Word, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
During the first part, the priest leads us in prayer and songs, praising God, thanking Him, and asking Him for forgiveness. We hear Scripture readings, the priest gives a talk, and then we all pronounce the core principles of our faith.
In the second part, the priest says the blessing, transforming bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ. We all say the "Our Father" prayer, and then receive communion. Finally, there is a closing prayer and final blessing.
