Holy Orders/Ordenes Santas
Vocational guidance and information is available for men who are discerning a call to the Diaconate or Priesthood. Please speak to a priest about this. The Diocese also has a Director of Vocations and an Office to assist in this, as well as help with vocations to the consecrated life of sister or brother. Cathedral Preparatory Seminary is a High School in Elmhurst that assists young men in discerning a vocation while offering a standard high school curriculum. Cathedral Residence in Douglaston and the John Paul II Residence in Brooklyn assist college-age and older men in preparing for the major seminary. Visit Brooklyn Priests for more information regarding Vocations in Brooklyn.

Anointing of the Sick/Unción de los enfermos
This sacrament is available for any baptized Catholic who is seriously ill or suffering the effects of advanced age. Please call the rectory to make an appointment for a priest to come to the home, or call anytime for a sudden illness. If serious surgery is scheduled, call to arrange for the anointing before you enter the hospital. A communal celebration of this sacrament is celebrated annually.

Communion to the Sick
When illness prevents someone from attending mass, please call to arrange for a priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to bring Holy Communion to the person at home. Ongoing weekly or monthly visits can be arranged.
